Description:
A moment has passed – and yet it is still there. In "In the Echo" movement and quiet meet. Black traces, splatters and fine lines seem to dance across the white surface, disappear, and reappear somewhere else. Nothing seems entirely planned, and that very lack of planning is the liveliness of the painting.

It evokes something that has just happened: a thought, an impulse, a storm, or a moment that has left traces. The white space in-between creates room for the unsaid – for what is not visible, but still lingers.

"In the Echo" does not tell of a concrete event. It is rather about the feeling that remains when something has already passed. About the faint traces a moment leaves in us.

The cracks in the painting are deliberate.
They are not a sign of damage, but part of the artistic expression. The breaks belong to the surface as scars belong to the skin: they tell of tension, movement, and the process itself. Precisely these cracks give the work depth and authenticity – nothing is smoothed, nothing hidden.

Christoph Prein is an Austrian artist known for his abstract and contemporary works, created mainly with acrylic paints. Originally from St. Margarethen near Knittelfeld, Prein’s pieces are often characterized by a minimalist, abstract style and are carefully crafted from high-quality materials to ensure vibrant colors and longevity. High-quality, lightfast acrylic paints have been used on multiple layers of white-primed gallery canvas.
