Description from the seller
Born in the province of Treviso in 1989, Roberta Comacchio carries with her an artistic background that expresses itself through painting and drawing. She works in her studio-home in Giavera del Montello, where she continues to experiment with new images and to develop a visual research in constant evolution.
She prefers oil painting, giving shape to an imaginary suspended between interiority and vision, imbued with symbolism, able to evoke a sense of mystery and the undefined. Alongside painting, she cultivates graphite and charcoal drawing on a sketchbook: an immediate gesture that allows her to fix insights and instantaneous ideas, often sprouts of later works.
Daily life becomes for her an accumulation of emotions that take shape in images to be pressed onto the canvas. Painting thus becomes a refuge, a subtle protection from what wounds and from the greyness of the external world: a suspended, almost dreamlike place, in which to immerse and dialog with herself.
In the presented work a child stands out against a field of blues and turquoise, like a fragment of the past brought to the surface. The figure, essential and frontal, becomes a symbol of what remains: a memory that does not dissolve, an identity that continues to speak in the present.
The blue shadow behind him is not only a pictorial element: it represents the hidden part of memory, what accompanies every individual even when it is no longer visible.
The lightly drawn flowers on the left evoke the birth of memories — forms that emerge, connect, transform.
The work operates on the boundary between what has been and what still is: an image that does not tell of childhood, but its persistence in adult life, like a silent root that continues to orient the present.
