Jaroslav Svoboda came into contact with glass-making at an early age at the grinding workshop of his father, who worked for the glassworks named Inwald in Poděbrady. As director of the glassworks in Škrdlovice he intensively cared about the technical development of glass factory as well as the artistic aspects. Svoboda
has created over 30 monumental works of art such as glass walls, light objects, stained glass etc. for state, financial, educational and industrial buildings in the Czech republic and abroad since 1974.
Born on 9th February 1938 in Sokolec near Poděbrady.

1986-1990 Professor and head of the glass studio at the College of Applied Arts in Prague.
