Unknown artist - Cup - Glass

A small antique glass drinking cup made for the Passover Seder, produced in Eastern Europe during the 19th century. The body is mould-pressed colourless glass and carries mould-relief decoration depicting the walls of Jerusalem and the Star of David; the Hebrew word Pesach is inscribed in large letters around the exterior. A loop carrying handle is attached to the side. Dimensions: height 4.7 cm, mouth diameter 3.3 cm, base diameter approximately 4.0 cm. Condition is Very Good: the piece is well preserved with no chips, cracks, or repairs visible; normal light surface wear consistent with age is present. Maker is unidentified; no marks or mould inscriptions are present on the base. The combination of Jerusalem imagery and explicit Pesach inscription places this firmly within the tradition of purpose-made Seder ceremonial glassware produced for Jewish communities across the Russian Empire and Austro-Hungarian territories in the 19th century.
