'Informator' globe from the 1940s, produced by JRO Verlag in Munich, Germany.
The globe is mounted on a beautiful Otto Herkt stand from the late 1930s.
The Informator series globes were among the first editions by JRO. The publishing house was started in 1922 in Munich by Ernst Kremling. JRO became especially well known in the 1950s for beautiful illuminated glass globes in various sizes.
The cartography of the Informator globes is beautifully and lavishly colored and shows very detailed physical geographic information, in short, maps of high quality, both from geographic and aesthetic perspectives.
The globe and stand are in excellent condition, a stunning eyecatcher in any interior.

De globe is gemonteerd op een prachtige Otto Herkt standaard uit de lat jaren 1930.
De Informator serie globes was een van de eerste uitgaves van JRO. De uitgeverij was in 1922 in München begonnen door Ernst Kremling. JRO is in de jaren 1950 vooral heel bekend geworden door mooie verlichte glazen globes in verschillende maten.
Het kaartbeeld van de Informator globes is prachtig uitbundig gekleurd en toont zeer gedetailleerde fysisch geografische informatie, kortom kaarten van hoog niveau, zowel uit geografisch als esthetisch oogpunt.
