Chandelier - Glass, Brass, Metal

Large and highly decorative French six-light chandelier dating from circa 1955 and strongly attributed to Maison Arlus, Paris.

The chandelier features six sweeping gilded-brass arms arranged around a black and brass central structure. Each arm carries an original-style cylindrical shade in substantial clear moulded glass with a striking repeating diamond/flame relief.

The asymmetrical brass construction, contrasting black elements and richly textured glass are characteristic of high-quality French post-war lighting and correspond closely with documented Maison Arlus designs from the 1950s.

Approximately 90 cm wide and approximately 40 cm high and deep.

Presented in good vintage condition with patination, oxidation and surface wear consistent with age. The six matching glass shades are present.

The electrical components are vintage and should be checked by a qualified electrician before installation.
