Description from the seller
Aegis Prime
A helmeted, faceless guardian whose identity is concealed behind its visor, Aegis Prime belongs to the ancient tradition of armored deities and sentinel figures. The work draws particularly on Athena and the aegis: an image in which protection, authority, and identity become inseparable.
The sculpture explores the tension between an ancient archetype and contemporary fabrication. Although its form may initially suggest a futuristic machine, its surface and material return it to the long history of ritual and figurative bronze.
Aegis Prime was produced using a contemporary metal 3D-printing process in bronze. After printing, I refined the sculpture extensively by hand and developed its patina naturally, making the final surface and tonal variations unique to this individual work.
