Silvio FORMICHETTI, a highly renowned figure in the contemporary art scene, was born in 1969 in Pratola Peligna (AQ).
The early works of Formichetti, dating from his beginnings, are distinguished by the depiction of female nudes and landscapes of the Abruzzo hinterland.
However, it is in the mid-nineties that he develops a significant interest in informal painting, influenced by artists of the caliber of Pollock and the American Action Painting proponents, as well as figures such as Dova, Afro, Vedova and Hans Hartung.
His works have now reached high prices and are in public collections across Europe.
