Original vintage poster of 1964 Lion with Mouse
Swierzy's posters have become iconic examples of mid-century graphic design, even though they are original editions commissioned by the communist state to promote cultural events, being the artists' only means of expression of the era; a sublime protest against the regime shines through. Printed in a handcrafted way, the color tone often varied in intensity. This poster comes from a small gallery in Venice, “Centro Posters and Gadgets,” closed in 1971, which mainly dealt with posters, so that it would be pop art.
Excellent condition.
The work is accompanied by the invoice and by a certificate of authenticity and provenance.
