Italian or French School – Florentine Baroque

Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of music and musicians

A magnificent painting of Saint Cecilia, by a follower of Carlo Dolci, painted circa 1850.

It is a major work and one of Carlo Dolci's most remarkable paintings.
The original work is today in the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (Dresden State Art Collections)

Oil on canvas, exceptional quality: 97 x 80 cm. (the original work kept in the museum is of the same dimensions within a few centimeters)

The painting is in very good condition, oil on canvas original; a few signs of wear/cracking due to age are to be noted nonetheless.

Certificate of authenticity will be provided to the purchaser.
