Abstract Geometric Composition, an original oil painting from the European School (XX) of the 1960s, Czech origin, hand signed, 34 × 47 cm, sold with a frame.
Description from the seller
Striking original abstract oil painting attributed to the European School of the 20th century, featuring a sophisticated geometric composition built from overlapping planes, lines and colour fields.
The composition combines turquoise, green, blue, red, ochre, beige and muted earth tones. Strong vertical and diagonal elements intersect with translucent geometric forms, creating a dynamic sense of depth, rhythm and movement.
The work reflects the visual language of European geometric and modernist abstraction of the second half of the 20th century. Its restrained yet vibrant colour palette and carefully structured composition make it particularly suitable for collectors of European abstract art, geometric abstraction, modernist painting and mid-century art.
The painting is hand signed “Matal” in blue in the lower right corner. The identity of the artist has not been independently established and the work is therefore offered as European School (XX) rather than attributed to a specific named artist.
The painting is presented in an attractive vintage decorative frame with a richly textured finish, which enhances the overall presentation of the artwork.
Artwork size: 34 × 47 cm
Framed size: 55 × 67 cm
Condition: The artwork and frame show signs of age and use consistent with their period. The frame has visible age-related wear. Please carefully examine all photographs, which form an integral part of the condition description.
An original and visually distinctive example of 20th-century European geometric abstraction, combining strong colour, structured forms and a characteristic modernist aesthetic.
