Plinio Codognato - Neumaticos Royal Cord - 1970s

Extraordinary and very rare advertising poster drawn by Plinio Codognato, one of the undisputed masters of Italian advertising billboards and automotive illustration of the 20th century. This specific poster, printed in color lithography by the famous G. Ricordi & C. printing house of Milan, was produced around 1910 for the Spanish market on commission from the American United States Rubber Company (US). The work testifies to Codognato's unmistakable Art Nouveau and dynamic style: a powerful green allegorical figure, a winged genius or a deity of speed, emerges with a plastically energetic presence enveloping the tire “Royal Cord.”
