Description from the seller

Large Informal Abstract Painting – Mixed Media on Canvas - 63 x 55 in (160 x 140 cm) – Signed bottom right “Bo”
Impressive and fascinating abstract art piece in mixed media (a rich combination of acrylic and oil) on a large canvas (160x140 cm). The painting is clearly and stylishly signed “BO” in the bottom right corner. The work fully fits the aesthetics of Abstract Expressionism and Informal Art, currents characterized by strong expressive freedom and the use of color as pure emotion and movement. The composition is dominated by overwhelming dynamism: the background, rendered in warm yellows and ochres, contrasts with a vigorous dark central structure. On this are decisive spatula hits and thick, pigmented brushstrokes in bright red, white, azure blue, and emerald green. The layering of color creates a rich, three-dimensional surface with great visual impact, alternating between more fluid areas and thick color blocks, typical of a mature artist’s handling of abstract space.
Bo Sigvardson (born in Karlshamn, Sweden, in 1952) is a Swedish visual artist, painter and sculptor, a prominent figure in Scandinavian contemporary art of the latter half of the 20th century. Trained in a Nordic artistic milieu strongly influenced by the legacy of Expressionism and Action Painting, Sigvardson developed a highly personal visual language centered on lyrical and informal abstraction. His production is renowned for the violent and dramatic chromatic contrasts, in which pure primary colors—such as sunlit yellows, intense reds, and deep blues—are juxtaposed with dense black and white fields, laid on the canvas with energetic, instinctive, and highly tactile gesture. Throughout his career, Sigvardson experimented extensively with mixed media, combining the fluidity of acrylic with the body and luster of oil painting, preferring large canvases to allow the force of the painterly gesture to express itself without spatial constraints. His works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Scandinavia and Northern Europe, becoming part of important private and public collections, especially in Germany and Denmark. The artist is known for signing his canvases on the front with the abbreviated signature “Bo,” a trademark that, together with the painting’s powerful chromatic dynamics and the geographic provenance of the piece (currently located in Lower Saxony), strengthens the attribution to his hand and his artistic maturity.

The monumental dimensions (160x140 cm) make this painting an exceptional piece, ideal to dominate the wall of a large living room, a modern loft, or a corporate reception space. The extraordinary chromatic power and decorative quality render it of great interest both to lovers of abstract art and to interior design professionals seeking a unique and characterful piece. The work will be packed with the utmost professional care and shipped via trackable express courier.
