Description of the Work
Splendid and powerful work on paper by the Aragonese master Juan José Vera, a key figure of Spanish informal abstraction in the second half of the 20th century.

The piece develops through a dense and dynamic weave of gestural brushstrokes. Using a rigorous monochromatic palette focused on shades of gray, charcoal black, and white, Vera creates a vibrant composition, rich in rhythm and expressive force. The chromatic overlay and the fluidity of the mark stand out clearly from the neutral paper background, concentrating the visual energy in a dense, magnetic central nucleus.

This piece fully represents the artist's maturità in the 1990s, a period in which his informal language sheds color to concentrate on the purity of gesture and chiaroscuro contrast.

Biography of the Artist
Juan José Vera (Zaragoza, 1926 - 2019) was one of the pioneers and leading exponents of abstract art in Spain. Co-founder of the historic Grupo Zaragoza in the 1960s, Vera dedicated his life to informal and constructivist painting research. Throughout his long and prestigious career he received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Aragón a las Artes Award in 2011. The six works are present in important public and museum collections, including IAACC Pablo Serrano and the Zaragoza Museum.

The frame, if visible in the photo, is included in the lot as a pure gift from me and is not part of the sale, does not determine its value, and, given its delicacy, is not insured. Consequently, any defects already present on the frame are not reported and any damage sustained by it during transport will not be considered for claims or refunds.

Notes on Shipping and Customs
The item is shipped from Geneva, Switzerland. For this reason, delivery times to EU countries could be slightly longer than usual due to the normal clearance procedures.

I also remind you that, since Switzerland lies outside the EU customs area, import duties, local VAT, and customs charges are entirely the buyer’s responsibility and will be demanded by the authorities of your country upon delivery. I recommend informing yourself in advance to avoid surprises. Alternatively, to shipping, if you have the option, pickup in person in Geneva is always the option I prefer and strongly recommend, as it will eliminate shipping costs and ensure maximum safety for the artwork. If shipping is chosen, I will do my best to package the piece to protect the painting during transit.
