This fascinating winter landscape is a work of notable depth by the renowned Swiss painter Émile Chambon, who lived from 1905 to 1993. The painting depicts an industrial-urban view blanketed in snow, where a three-arched bridge crosses a calm watercourse, while in the background the silhouettes of factories and chimneys emerge beneath a dull, muffled sky. Chambon, a prominent figure in the Geneva and Swiss art scene, is known for his very personal style that blends elements of magical realism with a geometrical rigor almost post-Cconstructivist. In this canvas, the quiet atmosphere of the snowy outskirts is rendered with a refined palette of grays, blues, and earthy tones, typical of his more intimate and melancholic compositions. The painting is signed lower left E. Chambon. On the back of the wooden frame there are old archival inscriptions and period marks that attest to its history and provenance.

Important information for bidders
As a private seller, please read carefully some notes to ensure an ideal transaction for both parties. The work is sold without a frame, as visible in the general photos, concentrating all its value on the splendid large-format original canvas.
Notes on shipping and customs
The item will be shipped from Geneva, Switzerland. For this reason, delivery times to European Union countries could be slightly longer than usual due to standard customs procedures. I also remind you that, since Switzerland is outside the EU customs area, import duties, local VAT, and customs charges are entirely the buyer’s responsibility and will be collected by the authorities in your country at delivery. I recommend informing yourself in advance to avoid surprises. Alternatively, if you have the possibility, pick-up in person in Geneva is always the option I most strongly recommend, as it eliminates shipping costs and ensures maximum safety for the work. If shipping is chosen, I will do my best to pack the painting securely to protect it during transit.
