Alessandro Gandolfi - Gaza #1

Ibrahim Arafat is surfing the waves of the Mediterranean off the Annadi Al Bahri Marine Club in Gaza City, in the Gaza Strip. The photo was taken in 2010 during a photo reportage dedicated to the world of Gaza surfers, a small group of Palestinian youths who, despite the enormous hardships of daily life in the Strip, were trying to play sports and have fun.

The image is signed on the back and measures 30x40 cm. It is printed in a limited edition (25 copies) on Hahnemühle Baryta FB 350 g/m² paper and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Alessandro Gandolfi is an Italian professional photographer and journalist. Interested in telling the small and large changes of contemporary society, his reportage has appeared in outlets around the world and has been exhibited in various international photo exhibitions and festivals. He has received international recognitions such as the Sony World Photography Award, the NPPA Best of Photojournalism, the POY - Pictures of the Year, and the PDN. Eight of his reportages published in National Geographic Italia have earned the “Best Edit Award” as the best reportage published across the magazine’s various local editions.
