Old Pasopati keris, straight, with Badung Mining (Buntel Mayit) pamor from Java.
The Buntel Mayit pamor is eerie. The motif image looks as if the entire blade is wrapped in a cloth. Some kris connoisseurs believe this pamor motif is particularly powerful for a owner with a strong personality. The magical power of this pamor motif brings luck and enhances both career and material prosperity. In Bali and Lombok, where this pamor Tambangan is called, the motif is beloved and valuable. It is said there that this motif increases authority and courage.
The blade is forged according to the iconic Pasopati dhapur, characterized by its straight, elegant form and distinctive features such as the sogokan and tikel alis. In Javanese tradition, the Pasopati dhapur is legendary, named after Arjuna’s arrow. It is regarded as a keris that symbolizes leadership.
A Nunggak semi grip set on a brass kendit mendok adorns the top of the keris. The keris resides in a Solo Gayaman wrangka cloaked with a bronze buntun pendok.
