Portrait attributed to Giuseppe Solenghi
1879/1944
Oil on panel.
He studied from 1892 to 1895 at the Brera Academy in Milan, attending painting courses under Cesare Tallone, sculpture and engraving courses under Ernesto Bazzaro, and finally perspective courses under Giuseppe Mentessi.
Between 1895 and 1900 he devoted himself to the reproduction of illuminated manuscripts.
After the First World War he began exhibiting his landscapes in group shows, especially urban views of old Milan. He dedicated himself to representing the damp panoramas of Milan's canals and the Venetian lagoons.
After his death, he was interred in the Monumental Cemetery of Milan.
The Municipality of Milan, after his death, named a street after him.
Framed measurements: height 36 cm, width 31 cm
The photographs are an integral part of the lot.
