"Deserto Rosso" is an explosion of matter and color. The lower part is a blazing field of deep, rugged reds, worked with thick impastos that catch the light and create ever-changing shadows. A dark, almost volcanic horizon line is interrupted by bursts of electric blue, like wildflowers or water in the desert.

The upper part opens into an ancient, tactile sky, ivory and sand with ochre and tobacco hues, which gives breath and luminosity to the work.
