Edition map of 2012 printed in color offset lithography
The original was printed in 1861 on the occasion of the celebration of the Unification of Italy
"Lithography, mm 1220x880 overall paper, mm 1120x810 the printed portion, in two sheets, with watercolor and fill-in shading.
Magnificent and evocative commemorative print of the Unification of Italy, executed in Milan at Ronchi lithography on behalf of the Emilia Publishing Company, missing from the major Risorgimento Museums and probably kept in two copies, of which only the present watercolor full-tone one exists.
At the center of the work stands an original perspective view of the Bel Paese seen from the Alps, with a marine horizon near the island of Malta: a map with a strong scenic impact, lacking meridians and parallels but endowed with notable evocative and painterly elements......"
