Description from the seller

Ian Fleming – For Your Eyes Only
Jonathan Cape, London, 1960

FIRST UK EDITION, FIRST IMPRESSION – 1960

Original Richard Chopping dust jacket retaining the original 15s. net price.

A collectible first edition, first impression of Ian Fleming’s For Your Eyes Only, the collection of five James Bond short stories published by Jonathan Cape in 1960.

The copyright page states “FIRST PUBLISHED 1960”, with no indication of a later impression.

The book is bound in the original dark cloth with the distinctive eye motif to the front board and gilt lettering and Jonathan Cape device to the spine.

The book itself remains in good condition for its age. The binding is firm, the front-board eye design is well preserved and the gilt spine decoration remains attractive. The pages show normal age-related toning and occasional light marks.

The original Richard Chopping designed dust jacket is present and, importantly, retains the original 15s. net price on the flap. The jacket shows signs of age and use, including rubbing, creasing, edge wear and small tears/losses, particularly around the edges, folds and spine ends. It remains substantially complete. Please refer closely to the photographs for its condition.

There are some light pencil/scratch marks to the rear endpaper, which are clearly shown in the photographs.

The title page, copyright page, original binding, dust jacket and original price are all photographed in detail.

Please study all photographs carefully as they form an integral part of the condition description.

An attractive and increasingly collectible example of an original Ian Fleming James Bond first edition, first impression, retaining its important original Richard Chopping dust jacket.
