Biographical Note about the Author
Giuseppe Montalbano (Tripoli, 1940 – Sciacca, 2013) was an Italian painter and art professor. Trained at the Palermo Institute of Art, he subsequently carried out a long teaching career in Sciacca, actively engaging in the cultural and figurative ferment of Sicily in the second half of the twentieth century.
His work sits within the realm of contemporary figurative painting, often enriched by atmospheres reminiscent of magical realism and metaphysical painting. Over the course of his career he participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Italy (Milan, Venice, Bologna) and abroad (Madrid, Barcelona, Montevideo).
His artistic trajectory has been documented in several publications, including the monograph Painting as Destiny (2004).
