Charles Dickens - Edwin Drood & Master Humphrey's Clock - 1885

This is a rare and beautiful copy, of Charles Dickens' final, unfinished novel; "Edwin Drood". The title was intended to be released in 12 instalments, but Dickens died in 1870, with only six completed, with the final half of the novel, forever remaining a mystery. As the novel is shortened, it is often bound with some of Dickens' other stories - in this case; "Master Humphrey's Clock", "Hunted Down", "Holiday Romance", and "George Silverman's Explanation". This copy is from the publisher's Cabinet Edition, with cloth spines over marbled boards and uncut fore-edges. It dates from between 1885-1887 and features Luke Fildes' classic illustrations. The book remains in Good condition and it displays beautifully. It would make a great addition to any private library or collection.
