Description from the seller
Coca Regina by La Mama – XL on Canvas
The ceremonial is intact. The pleasure, for its part, clearly belongs to our era.
In Coca Regina, La Mama confronts the majestic pomp of the aristocratic portrait with one of the most universal symbols of popular culture: a bottle of Coca-Cola.
Clad in a brilliant red, adorned with pearls and wrapped in an imposing white strawberry, the young woman seems to belong to a forgotten royal court. Yet, with her eyes closed, she gently brings the bottle to her lips as if savoring a forbidden pleasure.
This contrast gives the piece its full force. Prestige meets daily life, history dialogues with advertising, and the contemporary icon becomes almost a royal object.
With its omnipresent red and a composition inspired by grand old portraits, Coca Regina has an immediate visual presence, balancing homage to classical painting, Pop Art, and contemporary irreverence.

A piece of digital craftsmanship
Coca Regina plays on a carefully constructed opposition between historical codes and contemporary culture.
The richness of the fabrics, the embroidery, the pearls, and the spectacular volumes of the strawberry immediately evoke the court portrait. Faced with this classic profusion, the Coca-Cola bottle acts as a graphic and temporal rupture.
The palette dominated by red creates an almost perfect continuity between the dress, the lips, the background, and the bottle’s label. The modern object then no longer seems added to the scene: it becomes, naturally, one of its attributes.

About the Artist
La Mama develops a contemporary universe where elegance, visual culture, subversion, and imagination meet.
Through her creations, the artist regularly confronts the codes of the classical portrait with objects, attitudes, and symbols from our era. These deliberately anachronistic encounters give rise to works that are immediately recognizable, oscillating between sophistication, humor, and provocation.
Each composition seeks to create a visual shock while maintaining a genuine aesthetic standard.
