Description from the seller
Sculpture / panel
Window frame - 64 x 48 cm
BLOCK STUDIO develops an artistic universe at the crossroads of painting, sculpture and contemporary design. Wood becomes a true material of expression here: cut into multiple geometric shapes, it is painted, worked and then assembled by hand to give birth to three-dimensional graphic compositions.
Each work is built like a small abstract architecture. The pieces of wood cross, overlap and interlock in a play of lines, solids and voids. This accumulation creates different depths and makes the painting evolve depending on the angle from which it is observed. Light also participates in the composition, revealing the reliefs and drawing new shadows as the day goes by.
BLOCK STUDIO favors strong compositions, often dominated by an intense color and punctuated by graphic details that break the regularity of the shapes. Behind an apparent spontaneity lies a genuine effort of balance between material, rhythm, volume and color.
Halfway between painting and wall sculpture, each BLOCK STUDIO creation transforms simple elements of wood into a singular contemporary work, tactile and architectural, designed to give material as much importance as the image.
