Théophile de Bock (1851-1904) - Bosweg Wolfheze

Oil on marouflé canvas with a typical work by Théophile de Bock, depicting a forest path near Wolfheze in Gelderland.
Canvas size 38.8 x 32.5 cm. Frame size 60 x 53 x 5 cm.
The frame is included free of charge.
In 1992 this work was exhibited at Museum Kempenland.
In 1998 it was purchased from Kunsthandel Kupperman in Amsterdam (see attached receipt).
Theophile Emile Achille de Bock was born in The Hague on 14 January 1851 and died in Haarlem on 22 November 1904.
Educated at the Drawing and Painting Academy "Ars Aemulae Naturae" in Leiden.
Student of J.W. van Borselen and Jan Hendrik Weissenbruch.
Movement of the late Hague School.
Created many landscapes, especially forest scenes.
Member and co-founder (1891) of the Haagsche Kunstkring. Member of the Société des Artistes Français (exhibited at the Salon of 1880-1884).
