Elegant pair of amphora-shaped vases with lids in polychrome porcelain, attributed to the Carl Thieme manufactory, Potschappel, Dresden (Germany).
The two vases feature a refined amphora shape with lid, characterized by a rich Rococo-inspired decoration, with polychrome ornaments, relief decorative elements and gilded details.
Both pieces bear on the base the mark “PS Dresden” in blue, a mark documented in the production of the Carl Thieme manufactory of Potschappel from the early 20th century.
The Carl Thieme manufactory, founded in Potschappel near Dresden, is known for producing decorative porcelain with historical/Rococo aesthetics, often featuring elaborate ornamental shapes, floral decorations, applied elements and gilding.
The pair is particularly interesting because the two pieces are identical and complete with lids, forming a harmonious decorative ensemble.
