Vitaphare copper bicycle lamp, antique

This antique copper bicycle lamp is made by the brand Vitaphare and has the classic shape of an oil- or carbide lamp, with a large front glass in a hinged copper frame and a smaller, faceted side glass for extra light output. At the top of the lamp there is a ventilated opening for smoke exhaust, and at the bottom a ribbed fuel reservoir with a twist knob. The lamp is entirely made of copper.

The condition is generally good for an object of this age. The copper shows a beautiful, warm patina with natural discoloration and light signs of wear, including a few scratches on the surface. The lamp is slightly dented here and there from use, see photos. The hinged front glass and the side glass are intact.
