Description from the seller
37x37 cm, a unique piece on a real Paris metro map, unframed, 2026
Since 2018, Warren Podguszer, known by the pseudonym Wawapod, has immersed himself in the world of Pop Art and street art in Paris, developing a unique style that fuses geometry and popular iconography. His work stands out for reusing emblematic icons through accumulations of dots, paying homage to art history and to popular figures he admires.
His works often have an initial abstract reading that becomes figurative depending on the distance from which you view them. He likes the idea that each person observing his works does not necessarily see the same thing, but above all he enjoys playing with the observer’s eye.
By diverting certain masterpieces, he aims to make them rediscovered by the general public and invites them to explore art history in a playful, modern, and democratic way.
Possibility to collect the work in the Paris region.
This work is a unique piece, hand-signed on the back and on the front by the artist.
Technique: Aerosol painting on paper.
Wawapod is a Parisian artist and street artist who exhibits across the country. His works are shown in several galleries in France and Europe.
WAWAPOD belongs to the same artistic current as: Jacques Villeglé, Invader, Jef Aérosol, Speedy Graphito, Vhils, Banksy, Mr. Brainwash, Obey/Shepard Fairey, OneMizer, C215, Basquiat, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Jerome Mesnager.
