Paco Requena - XXL-Una caja de recuerdos

A unique work directly from the artist's studio, executed in acrylic on canvas. Entirely handmade, signed on the back. Originally painted on a stretcher frame and subsequently disassembled for shipment. It is varnished to ensure its preservation.

Due to the size of the piece, to ensure safe transport, it is sent unstretched, rolled up and protected in a box or tube. It must be mounted upon arrival on a suitable stretcher frame to the work's dimensions (120 x 120 cm).

The piece has a black-painted border about 2 centimeters wide that is not part of the work. It also has an extra canvas margin of about 4 cm on each side.

Some images are edited and may give a misleading impression of the dimensions of the work. We recommend verifying the size. Realistic images of the work in interior and exterior are provided at the end. Some colors may vary slightly depending on the lighting of the photograph and the device on which the artwork is viewed.

Paco Requena is a Spanish abstract painter who lives and works in southern Spain. Trained as a psychologist, during his university studies he began to take an interest in art and started his artistic training by creating his first abstract works. He has held solo and group exhibitions, and his works are available in galleries in his region.

In the artist's universe, color becomes language and geometry becomes emotion. His abstract works celebrate the harmony between the structured and the intuitive, through compositions built with vibrant blocks, rhythmic patterns, and lines that dance between order and chaos.

Each piece is a visual mosaic, an exploration of textures and shapes that invite the viewer to discover personal narratives within the seemingly random. The bold, contrasting color palette, inspired by the colors of southern Spain, awakens the eye and transforms the everyday into art.

Inspired by the spirit of collage and 20th-century geometric abstraction, these works present themselves as emotional maps of the present: imperfect, fragmented, but full of intention. A visual experience that seeks not to represent, but to evoke.
