Interesting portrait of a gentleman painted in oil on canvas, a work of a European school and datable to the first half of the 19th century, around 1830–1850.

The painting depicts an elegant gentleman with a direct gaze, dressed in a dark frock coat, white shirt with a high collar and a black cravat, elements characteristic of the masculine attire of the period. The careful handling of the face stands out, especially the gaze and the distinctive mustache of the sitter.

Presented in its original and unusual circular format and preserving its old wooden frame made expressly for the work. The reverse shows the passage of time and old conservation interventions, with visible patches on the canvas.
