A glass ikebana bowl featuring a figure ("Nude Thinker"), made of amethyst-colored (purple) pressed glass. This iconic piece of mid-20th-century Czech design (Mid-Century Modern) has an interesting story: Designer: The sculpture and bowl were designed by the renowned Czech artist Jitka Forejtová in the 1950s. Production: It was manufactured at the famous Rudolfova Huť glassworks (part of the Sklo Union group) in the former Czechoslovakia. Concept: The set originally consists of a wide, ribbed water bowl, a glass insert with holes for flowers (a so-called "flower frog"), and a central glass figure depicting a reclining female nude in a contemplative pose.
