Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). Reside en España.

This Fine Arts graduate from the University of Salamanca and Audiovisual Communication graduate from the University of Burgos has had an outstanding academic formation, complemented by experiences abroad thanks to Erasmus scholarships he carried out in Portugal and Belgium.

His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, digital art and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings and collages. His style is characterized by a rich, vivid and expressive color palette, as well as a plastic compositional style, with dynamic and unusual perspectives, influenced by his passion for analog photography.

The themes he addresses in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits…that’s all,” following the famous phrase of David Hockney. Although his work starts from figurative representation, he has recently begun to experiment with geometric abstraction, always in large, expansive support formats.

This artist has participated in numerous exhibitions at the national level, with a special focus on the north of Spain. For more than 20 years, he has presented his work in various towns, such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria and Salamanca, where his work is particularly recognized. Additionally, he has won painting awards both nationally and internationally, which demonstrates his talent and recognition in the artistic field.

Recently, he won the prize of the III Motril Art Competition. 2024.

Beyond his presence in exhibitions, his works are part of multiple private collections around the world. This shows that his work is not only appreciated by the general public but also by collectors and art lovers who value his unique style and technical skill.
