Investigations in the major historical-art databases do not presently yield precise birth dates for the artist; however, the style and materials place the execution in the context of 20th-century Hungarian painting.

The works, created in the classic round format, stand out for a fresh and immediate stylistic approach. "Leányfej" depicts a young woman with an elaborate dark headdress with defined volumes, while "Arc" focuses on a female face with lighter and more subtle chromatics. The technique reveals excellent mastery of watercolor, skillfully exploiting the porosity of the paper to create contrasts and glazes.

The paintings retain on the back the original labels of the "Budapesti Képzőművészeti Kft." (Budapest Fine Arts Society), a fundamental institution for the distribution of art in Hungary in the course of the twentieth century.

The labels certify provenance by listing the artist's name, the original titles, the inventory numbers (11 and 12) and the original sale price (4000 forints).

The frame, if visible in the photo, is included in the lot as a pure gift from me and is not part of the sale, does not determine its value and, given its delicacy, is not insured. Consequently, any flaws already present on the frame are not reported and any damage to it during transport will not be considered for claims or returns. Also the wall mounting system could be removed. Glass often breaks during transport and can ruin the work. They can be removed upon request at no additional cost. Please let me know if you prefer the work shipped without it; otherwise I cannot assume responsibility.

Notes on shipping and customs
The item ships from Geneva, Switzerland. For this reason, delivery times to EU countries may be slightly longer than usual due to standard customs procedures.

In case of return of the package for wrong address, unclaimed package or duties unpaid, the buyer must pay for a second shipment and cover return costs.

I also remind you that, since Switzerland is outside the EU customs area, import duties, local VAT and customs charges are entirely the buyer's responsibility and will be charged by authorities in your country upon delivery. I suggest informing yourself in advance to avoid surprises. As an alternative to shipping, if you have the possibility, personal pickup in Geneva is always the option I prefer and strongly recommend, as it will allow you to eliminate shipping costs and ensure maximum safety for the artwork. If shipping is chosen, I will do my best to pack it to protect the painting during travel.
