Original Seiko commemorative table clock for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, gilt medal‑shaped and about 6 cm in diameter, with a hand‑wound movement sold as not working; crown sets the hands, mainspring is stiff and it cannot be wound, gilt finish worn around the bezel and lid rim, dial is clean.
Description from the seller
Seiko commemorative table clock made for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, in the form of a gilt medal. Approx. 6 cm in diameter.
Description:
The hinged lid is struck with a discus thrower inside a laurel wreath and lettered "TOKYO 1964". Opening it reveals the clock: a white dial with applied gilt baton indices, turquoise-filled hands, the 1964 Tokyo Olympic emblem above the Seiko name, and the dial text "2 JEWELS" and "JAPAN". The movement is hand-wound.
Condition:
SOLD AS NOT WORKING. The crown will set the hands, but the mainspring is stiff and the clock CANNOT be wound; it does not run. It is offered for servicing or as a display piece, not as a working clock. The gilt finish is worn and tarnished, most visibly on the bezel and the rim of the lid, and there is age-related surface corrosion in places. The dial is clean. Please study the photographs, which form part of the description.
