Description from the seller

Technique and Emotion

From deep darkness steps a half-naked warrior woman. Long, tousled hair falls unrestrained over face and shoulders. The gaze is hard and alert, almost challenging. In her hands she holds a bow, the arm encircled by a dark, gleaming leather bracelet. An ochre-colored leather hangs loosely around the hips.
In this wild portrait, Crash works here with the classic chiaroscuro of the old masters—the dramatic light and dark of a Caravaggio or Rembrandt. The light models the body from the blackness: chest, shoulder, and the leather-reflective arm guard stand out in relief, while the background sinks into an impenetrable, cave-like darkness. The painting remains close to the figure—rough brushstrokes in the hair, soft transitions in the skin, hard contrasts in the leather.
A small format with strong physical presence—sensual and powerful at once.

About the Artist

Crash is a contemporary painter who masters the techniques of the old masters and translates them into a modern, often provocative visual language. In around 30 solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad—from Kempten, Füssen and Pfronten through Munich, Leipzig and Berlin to Reutte (A) and Osijek (HR)—he has shown his work.
