Daniël Deparis (1910–1981), signed oil on canvas titled Fillette à la poupée, a 1950s portrait from France, original edition, sold with frame, 88 × 75 × 7 cm including the frame, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Oil on canvas signed « Daniel de Paris », depicting a young girl holding a doll. The work, of a figurative style, stands out for its intimate subject and its soft color palette, with a marked contrast provided by the blue of the garment.
The painting is signed « Daniel de Paris » in the upper right, directly on the canvas. The artist is referenced under this name on the art market, but biographical information available is limited, so their nationality and birth and death dates cannot be precisely determined with certainty. The work may be placed in the 20th century, with no more precise dating known.
This is an original oil on canvas, mounted on its wooden stretcher and in an important antique carved gilded wooden frame.
The title « Jeune fille à la poupée » is a descriptive title, no original title being known.
The total dimensions with frame are 88 × 75 × 7 cm (height × width × depth). The exact dimensions of the canvas alone are to be completed.
The work comes from a private collection. The previous history of ownership is not known. No certificate of authenticity, original invoice, or expert appraisal currently accompanies the painting.
The lot is in a general condition in keeping with its age. The canvas shows some signs of wear and use. The gilded frame also shows patina, rubs, and a few small losses related to its age, visible in the photographs.
The work is offered in its current state. The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow assessment of its condition.
