Statuette, Columnas gran Tour - 75 mm - Gilt bronze, Silvered bronze

Original set of four ornamental bronze cast columns, shaped like small classical Greek-inspired columns. They feature vertically fluted shafts, circular molded bases, and top capitals decorated with vegetal motifs and volutes. Greece. Late 19th century.

The four pieces are identical and form a set, presenting two units with gold finish and two with silver finish. The bottom part is hollow, as seen in the photographs, a feature compatible with pieces made by casting.

Due to its ornamental repertoire, based on classical architectural forms, and its nature as a small decorative bronze object, the set can be stylistically attributed to the taste of the Grand Tour, a tradition linked to the European diffusion of reproductions and objects inspired by Classical Antiquity.

The design follows classical architectural models, with clear inspiration from Greco-Roman column and capital traditions. This type of repertoire was widely used in historicist furniture and decorative objects.
