"THE SILENCE AFTER THE WIND" arises from the contrast between energy and quiet. Deep blues and greens meet earth tones, ochre and reds crossed by swift and textural brushstrokes. The lines and geometric shapes remain as traces of a movement barely past. In the center, black gathers the different tensions of the composition, allowing that suspended moment after the wind to surface, when silence returns.
PAOLO CONTIN has been developing a personal and continually evolving artistic path for over twenty-five years. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he brings to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form, and compositional balance.
Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This has been followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with presence in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.
Paolo Contin's artistic path is also documented by its presence in the Mondadori Arte catalog with related quotations. Over the years his works have also been published in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo shows and major art fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute.
He was also among the founding members of "Tostart", an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Veneto artists and active until the pandemic period.
An eclectic and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or tendency. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, fields, geometric shapes, and intense chromatic relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement, and emotion.
Experimentation extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the stacking of geometric elements, confirming a research that goes beyond painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without preset formulas: every work arises from the will to preserve freedom, identity, and expressive authenticity.
