As an artist I hereby present my recent oil painting Young Sparrow on a box of cherries
I was born in Maastricht (1965) but have lived and worked for most of my life in the wonderful inspiring Bollenstreek.

I usually paint my bird paintings under my artist name CH van Dijk, which is also how this work is signed

On the panel, with great attention to detail, a young sparrow is depicted, resting on the rim of a decorative cup full of fresh cherries.

The work is built using classical techniques with a soft, warm background and refined light on the fruit and the feathers
