Icon - Bruno Bertoldini - Glass - Madonna with Child

Madonna with Child signed by Bruber, pseudonym of the master glassmaker and Venetian artist Bruno Bertoldini (born 1931), known for his artistic works on Murano glass, mirrors and panels etched with gold inserts and enamels. The cursive inscription on a golden background reproduces the typical signature used by the artist to authenticate his relief works or on a plaque. The work features a tactile or decorative treatment in an antiqued style, attributable to Murano production of the twentieth century.
The complete piece shows a splendid Madonna with Child set in a pointed-arch niche, finely chiseled and enriched with strong patches of cobalt blue enamel and applications of gold leaf.
To embellish the piece, the presence of the original frame, a velvet/wood frame contemporaneous to the period.
