Standing table lamp from circa 1900–1910, made of glass and metal, in Art Nouveau style, with two glass goblets in the base and an opaline glass shade, originating in the Netherlands and in working order.
Description from the seller
Standing table lamp from around 1900, with above the metal base a two-stage glass lamp foot featuring geometric decorations. Crowned with a white opaline glass (milky glass) shade, beautifully designed as a classic lampshade finish.
Although the decorations are mainly classical in character, the lamp also shows Art Nouveau features due to the overall arrangement with two glass cups that taper toward the top and the overall shape of the shade, with a mushroom-like design.
The wiring, the two small fittings and the cord with switch are of modern date, allowing the lamp to be used safely. Inside, a new metal ring has been used to secure the shade.
The glass shade has a small chip on the bottom edge, which however is hardly disruptive to the overall appearance.
The metal base shows the usual signs of use and oxidation.
The two glass cups of the base, made of clear glass with a tinge of copper color, are in excellent condition; only a small chip on the top edge of one cup, but this is not immediately visible.
All in all a beautifully designed lamp, still largely original and notable for the two glass cups in the lamp foot and the opaline glass shade, which, when lit, emits a very atmospheric light.
The photos are part of the description.
The lamp is professionally packaged, sent by registered mail and insured; pickup in Alkmaar (The Netherlands) is also an option.
