El Bosque, by Escuela Barroco Europea, late Baroque era landscape painting from the 18th century, oil on panel, Europe origin, unsigned and in good condition, sold with a gilded wooden frame; dimensions 32.5 × 43.5 cm with frame (24 × 35 cm without).
Description from the seller
Title: The Forest
School: European Baroque school, 18th century
Style: Late Baroque, pastoral landscape
Technique: Oil on panel
Circle and artistic influences:
Work linked to the milieu of European Baroque landscape painters, with influences from the Flemish and Italian landscape tradition. The idealized composition, the small figures and the dramatic use of light recall the pastoral landscape developed during the 17th and 18th centuries.
Forest landscape dominated by a large tree that structures the composition and frames a scene of bucolic character. In the foreground appear several small figures accompanied by animals, while another figure is distinguished in the distance following a path among the vegetation. In the background rise mountain formations under a sky with blue- and ochre-toned hues.
The work presents a warm palette of greens, browns, earth tones and golds, with marked contrasts between illuminated areas and shadowed areas. Depth is constructed through the succession of planes and the opening of the landscape toward the horizon.
The painting is presented with a wooden gilded frame, wide and moulded, of classical aesthetic. The frame shows signs of age, surface wear, scuffs and small losses in the gilded finish.
Observations: It shows restorations and signs of age appropriate to its era. The condition should be assessed noting the provided photographs.
Dimensions: 32.5 × 43.5 cm with frame; 24 × 35 cm without frame.
The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In that case, we will need photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to causes such as being outside a continental territory, exceeding measurements or weight of the item. PremiArt will never cover this surcharge.
The courier passing through the Swiss border may experience significant delays, so, if possible, to expedite processing, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so that the client can unlock it and thus reach its destination. Experience has taught us that this is the most effective solution for both parties.
Due to the high volume of shipments, orders may be delayed more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. If you have any questions about your order, please contact us via internal messaging.
