Description from the seller
Henri Victor Wolvens is a Belgian artist born in 1896 in Brussels and died in 1977 in Bruges. His artist name was a pseudonym for Wolvenspergens, Henri Victor. He was a painter, graphic designer, and draftsman. Trained at the Academy of Sint-Joost-ten-Node with H. Ottevaere, for two years of sculpture at the Academy of Sint-Gillis, he worked in 1921-1922 in the Labor workshop in Ixelles and Uccle. First solo exhibition at the G. Giroux Gallery in Brussels in 1925. Travel to Prague in 1929-1931 and worked in France, in the Ardennes (Houffalize) and on the Belgian coast. After his marriage in 1930, he settled permanently in Bruges. Expressionist and animist.
