Schulz Charles - Originale Snoopy in spiaggia - 1970s

Spectacular original vintage poster dedicated to Snoopy, the famous character created by the great American cartoonist Charles M. Schulz for the Peanuts series.

Published in Italy by Milano Libri Edizioni, a historic publishing house that decisively contributed to the diffusion of the Peanuts in our country, the poster belongs to the sought-after numbered series produced under license from United Feature Syndicate. At the bottom the original editorial markings and the number 32 of the series are clearly visible.

The scene is one of the funniest and most irresistible dedicated to Snoopy: the famous beagle, wearing a swimsuit and a surfboard, stands in front of the sign “Dog Beach Prohibited.” An ironic, immediate and graphically splendid image, able to perfectly summarize the anti-conformist, intelligent and surreal spirit of Schulz’s universe.

The panel from which the image derives originally appeared in the Peanuts strip of July 23, 1966; this rare Italian edition of the poster, printed by Milano Libri Edizioni, can be plausibly placed in the early seventies.

Particularly fascinating is the essential graphics, dominated by the blue of the sky and the intense red of the surfboard, with the characteristic black line of Schulz. A genuine pop culture object, today extremely decorative and perfect for furnishing a modern home, a studio, a bedroom, a seaside venue or a Snoopy, Peanuts and international comic history collection.

The sheet shows normal signs of age, light creases, small imperfections and traces of use visible in the photographs, elements consistent with the age and capable of increasing its vintage charm. Readers are invited to examine the images carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
