Description from the seller

Summer Horizons II from the Derivas series
Unique artwork

In Derivas, Ella Suárez develops an inquiry into landscape understood as an expanded field, where forms are not fixed, but move, transform, and continually reconfigure themselves.

The works are situated in an intermediate territory between the recognizable and the abstract. Through undulating structures and transitional planes, they evoke reliefs, horizons, and geographic features that do not belong to a specific place, but to an experience of landscape in constant change.

The concept of an extended landscape runs through the series as a way of thinking the environment beyond its physical limits. Space dilates, the horizon decomposes, and depth is constructed through layers that fold, open, and overlap. In this context, relief ceases to be stable and becomes a living matter, subject to mutation processes.

Color acts as structure and energy. The palettes are organized into transitions that generate tension and continuity, articulating a visual rhythm that suggests movement, atmosphere, and time. Each plane responds to an internal logic that balances density and fluidity, building a landscape that is never presented as definitive.

In Derivas, landscape ceases to be an image and becomes process: a way of perception in which matter, color, and time are in a state of permanent transformation.

Authenticity of the work:
Each work is hand-signed on the back of the canvas, guaranteeing its authenticity and preserving the visual purity of the painting surface. The signature includes the title of the work, the year of creation, and Ella Suárez's signature. The piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), which certifies its origin and authorship.

Clarifying note:
Reference images may show slight tonal variations from the original work due to lighting in the spaces, which can affect contrast or color temperature, as well as differences between display devices. The photographs have been made with the greatest possible care.

Shipping details:
The work will be shipped rolled in a protective tube, a method that guarantees its safety during transport and offers a more economical and sustainable option. The canvas includes an extra 5 cm margin on each side to facilitate re-stretching, which can be carried out by the buyer or by a professional.

Seller's Story

Ella Suárez is a Cuban-Spanish visual artist dedicated to contemporary abstract painting. Her work explores nature as a primary source of inspiration, with a particular focus on botany, flowers, and the study of color as a language of transformation, rhythm, and visual balance. Each artwork offered on this platform is a unique, original piece, fully conceived and produced in her studio through her own artistic processes on canvas. Through a rigorous and coherent approach, Suárez develops pictorial series that investigate the relationship between form, color, and natural structures, resulting in compositions of strong visual richness and contemporary sensitivity. All materials used are of high quality, in line with an artistic practice committed to excellence, sustainability, and the support of small-scale artistic and artisanal suppliers based in Madrid.
