The piece "Arsura" reveals from the first glance as an intense meditation on the visceral thirst of the human being: a drought not only of physical depletion but also a hunger for knowledge and the drying up of culture.

The terracotta face, marked by a deep craquelé texture, directly recalls the earth cracked by drought. The cracks in the molded material evoke the draining of resources and the fragility of nature and humans when the primary element of life—water—is missing.

On the figure and in the background lies a registry of codes, arrows, and essential graphs. They seem to be archival symbols or languages on the verge of extinction, testimony of knowledge that risks being lost if not constantly nourished and preserved.

The ethnic fabric at the bottom, closed by a modern zip, represents the intertwining of ancient traditions and contemporaneity. The depicted man looks forward with dignified seriousness, embodying the continual drive to drink from the source of knowledge to overcome the aridity of the present.

"Arsura" is a poly-material work with a strong symbolic impact, capable of transforming the wound of cracked matter into a cry of alarm and, at the same time, into a search for spiritual and cultural rebirth.

Luciano Greco (1971) is a sculptor, painter, and craftsman, trained in the workshops of the great Taranto masters between the 1980s and 1990s. After his diploma at the Art High School, he earned a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts of Lecce, a period during which he actively attended numerous artistic circles. His research focuses on experimenting with reclaimed materials—such as waste, cuttings, and industrial shavings—through which he creates figurative sculptures.

At the center of his production is the current human condition, where the boundaries between pathology and normality blur. Today his creations are part of numerous private collections across Europe.
