Description from the seller

The Opus One 2007 is regarded as one of the most outstanding and most opulent vintages of this legendary Californian cult wine. It perfectly combines the power of Napa Valley with the classic elegance of a great Bordeaux.

Color: deep, dense garnet red.
Bouquet: intense and multi-layered. Dominant aromas of cassis, blackberry cobbler, dark chocolate and nutmeg, paired with notes of undergrowth, tobacco, cola and fine frankincense.
Taste: On the palate the wine presents itself full, creamy and extremely expressive. The tannins are perfectly refined, velvety and ripe. A juicy extrinsic sweetness from dark berry confit and fine nougat carries through to the extremely long, chocolatey finish.

Drink window: The wine is currently at its absolute peak. However, thanks to its perfect balance, it still has the structure to mature in the cellar for several more years.

Special feature of the vintage: It was the first year in which winemaker Michael Silacci vinified Petit Verdot together with Cabernet Sauvignon, which gave the wine an even deeper color and structure. Critics such as Robert Parker rated this monumental vintage with a proud 95 points.
