Description from the seller

Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. Her work is characterized by an inventive and idiosyncratic approach to abstract art, in which painting, relief and sculptural elements come together. With rich colors, layered structures and diverse materials she creates powerful works around themes such as resilience, movement, strength and transformation.

Her international career has developed strongly in recent years. Lubbers was named Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro and placed second at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. In addition, she was listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as Master in Art.

Internationally her work has been seen and planned for exhibitions in New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A particular highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition, Nicole together with artist Michael Lam presents the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Here Lam's flowing Single Stroke Painting and Lubbers’ expressive, layered structures meet. The color purple forms the connecting thread between two different artistic languages and symbolizes creativity, spirituality and transformation.

Nicole Lubbers's work is more than decoration. Her compositions invite reflection on perseverance, growth and overcoming challenges. Each work forms a powerful and tangible statement that gives a space character, energy and distinctiveness.

In addition to her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a puppet maker. Her artworks are delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
