“Misty Light” from the Birch Reflections series depicts a quiet birch landscape where light, natural textures, and a deliberately restrained color palette merge.

Bright, almost silvery birch trunks emerge from a multilayered beige, greige, and soft earth-toned background. Deep green foliage forms a loose canopy at the top, creating a striking contrast to the calm, bright surroundings. A diffuse glow between the trees enhances the atmospheric depth and evokes light penetrating through fine morning mist.

The landscape is intentionally not rendered to the smallest detail. Some contours dissolve almost into the background, while dark drawings of birch bark and fine, graphically appearing branches provide targeted accents. Thus, there is a dialogue between clarity and blur, proximity and distance.

A special role is played by the surface structure of the painting. Parts of the foliage are impastoed and relief-like, giving each leaf a tangible plasticity and casting fine shadows when light hits from the side, which gives the treetop additional depth and vitality.

The layered background also reacts to changing light. Depending on the viewing angle and lighting, cooler gray-beige tones or warmer, subtly shimmering sand and gold nuances come forward more strongly. As a result, the painting subtly changes its effect over the course of the day and looks slightly different under different light.

Through a combination of large format, calm composition, natural coloring, and textured surface, Misty Light is particularly suited for modern, minimalist, Japandi, and Contemporary interiors. Despite its size, the work maintains a light, meditative aura and can serve as both a central focal point and a tranquil atmospheric element in the room.

The painting is shipped unframed and rolled. The canvas is carefully wrapped around a sturdy cardboard tube and then protected in a robust outer carton.

About the artist

Alla Faber lives and works in Hamburg. For several years she has been dedicated to abstract and contemporary painting, creating large-scale works that balance stillness and movement, structure and ease.

Her preferred materials are acrylic paints, texture gels, and metal foils—combined in fine, often multi-layered compositions. Through delicate transitions, harmonious color gradients, and light reflections, her images do not dominate the space but fill it with quiet presence.

Her artistic work follows the concept “So sounds the silence” – a painterly exploration of the moment between sound and silence. In this silence there is no emptiness for Faber, but a living force: the breathing of light, the whisper of colors, the soft pulsation of the space.

Her works have already been shown in several exhibitions in Hamburg and are now in private collections in Europe, the USA, and the United Arab Emirates.
